Till now we have studied about the three motions of aircraft.

1. Pitch-  A pitch motion is an up or down movement of the nose of the aircraft  (lateral Axis)
2. Roll- A roll motion is up and down movement of the wings of the aircraft (Longitudinal Axis)
3. Yaw-A yaw motion is a side to side movement of the nose of the aircraft (Normal Axis)

Lets quickly recap the controls and related motions here.

The three movements are complimentary to each other to ensure flight of aircraft.

Aircraft don’t fly in a straight line. They need to turn for desired routes and simultaneously change altitude and that’s where all the three motions complement each other A fundamental aircraft motion is a banking turn. The aircraft rolls, pitches and yaws at the same time.
